Chameleon Crown — 1.50 Carat Natural Chameleon Diamond Ring

Rare, mysterious, and utterly one-of-a-kind — the Chameleon Crown centers a breathtaking 1.50 carat natural chameleon oval cut diamond, GIA certified, one of nature's most enigmatic gemstones. Chameleon diamonds make up a tiny fraction of a percent of all diamonds ever mined, and finding one this large, natural, and certified is a true collector's moment.

The diamond is cradled in a low-profile, antique-inspired solitaire setting, hand-crafted in a striking two-tone design — 18K yellow gold shoulders paired with a 14K white gold prong gallery — allowing the diamond's remarkable color-shifting beauty to take center stage. Designed and custom set in-house at our private Clayton showroom.

What Is a Natural Chameleon Diamond?

Chameleon diamonds are one of the rarest and strangest characters in the diamond world — named after the lizard for good reason. Left in the dark for a few days, a chameleon diamond will shift from a muted grayish-green or olive hue to a warm yellow, and gentle heat brings on another shift right before your eyes. Given time back in daylight, it slowly reverts to its original color, ready to repeat the trick all over again.

Gemologists believe this color-changing act comes down to trace amounts of hydrogen and nitrogen locked inside the crystal structure, though the exact mechanism remains something of a scientific mystery. Cherry Pick Diamonds is honored to bring this rare natural chameleon diamond to clients across St. Louis, Clayton, Ladue, and Frontenac who appreciate the extraordinary.
